Aging and Dementia: When and How to Intervene

Our presenter will be Margaret (Mardy) Chizek, president of Charism Eldercare Services, and a noted speaker and author on eldercare and aging.

Mardy's presentation will be aimed to help Professional Organizers who have seniors as their clients and are unsure of when to get concerned when they recognize changes in their clients cognition. Professional organizers who have seniors with cognitive impairment are often at a loss as to where to reach out for assistance when a client is in need. Mardy will share her expertise in the eldercare field to educate professional organizers to recognize early changes in cognition and how to guide families and seniors in need.

Mardy is a registered nurse and nurse practitioner with more than 45 years working in multiple facets of healthcare. She opened Charism Eldercare Services in 2005 as a way for families to have a consultant and partner who offers comprehensive collaboration for the complex issues of aging and dementia. Her healthcare, medico legal and financial expertise is broad with special emphasis on dementia, mental health issues, complex family dynamics, mediation and negotiation, team building and senior medical conditions. Mardy is often called upon to be a public speaker and has authored many articles on the issues of aging and dementia. Mardy is a USAF veteran
